iOS

If your notifications don't work for some reason, please check the following:

  • Go to Telegram Settings > Notifications and Sounds, make sure that notifications are ON in Telegram.
  • Check that notifications are ON in phone settings.
  • Check, whether contact or group is muted.
  • Are you using the latest Telegram version? Check here: https://telegram.org/dl/ios
  • Shut down Telegram (go to home screen, double tap home button, swipe upwards on Telegram)
    • Then go to iOS Settings, set alert style for Telegram to NONE
    • Re-launch Telegram, go to Phone Settings, set alert style back to banners.
  • Reset notifications: Telegram Settings → Notifications → Reset Notifications.

Android

If your notifications don't work for some reason, please check the following:

  • Go to Telegram Settings — Notifications and Sounds, make sure that notifications are ON.
  • Check, whether the contact or group is muted.
  • Are you using the latest Telegram version? Check here: https://telegram.org/dl/android
  • Go to Settings — Notifications and Sounds.
    • If the Telegram Notifications Service is disabled, consider enabling it, this guarantees timely notifications.
    • Otherwise, make sure Google Play Services are installed on your phone, unfortunately Google's own GCM notifications are not as reliable and we cannot guarantee that you'll get them on time.
  • If you have a battery optimizer/Task Manager/Task Killer or something installed of that kind: please put Telegram on the list of allowed apps (whitelist).
  • Reset the notifications: Telegram Settings > Notifications and bottom Reset All Notifications.

Windows Phone

If your notifications don't work for some reason, please try the following:

  • Telegram Settings → Notifications → Reset Notifications
